GBS Digital Connectivity
This rural development project is the response to years of listening to Ghanaian educators express their most critical needs---access to resources being chief among them. This is especially true because none of the schools they work with have libraries or textbooks for students. Often, teachers are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks. Prior to this intervention, most students studying computer keyboarding did so without ever touching a computer. Access to the internet was a dream. Through this project GBS provides access to teaching and learning tools for both teachers and students.
Because access to contemporary computing technology is critical for the success of modern education, Ghana Beyond Subsistence collaborates with Ghana Education Services (GES) to provide high-speed internet to nine computer labs that serve the needs of twelve schools in Ghana’s Volta Region.
