GBS International Teaching & Learning Workshop
Connected Learning: Strategies for Project Based Learning Using the Internet
Ghana Beyond Subsistence
provides annual workshops in project-based learning for Ghanaian teachers and their administrators. The purpose is to offer pedagogical strategies and tools for project-based learning.
Workshop Guiding Principles:
-
Establish genuine relationships between U.S. and Ghanaian teachers.
-
Listen and learn from one another.
-
Focus on the benefits and challenges of Project Based Learning.
-
Engage in PBL to develop ideas for the classroom.
-
Prepare to follow up in schools the subsequent week and virtually over the coming year.
The benefit of the workshop is to facilitate conversation and exchange between Ghanaian teachers and administrators, and U.S. teachers. In a sense, GBS creates the space for teachers and partner schools to plan their ways forward.
The 2024 GBS International Teaching & Learning Workshop will provide teachers the opportunity to Explore, Expand, and Exchange ideas through use of the Internet.
Possibilities
Teachers can explore the internet to find new resources to use with lesson planning and to help students learn how to navigate a new resource for learning.
Learning Horizons
Utilizing the internet to expand teachers and students minds to new ways of teaching and learning. Expanding education beyond the classroom.
Ideas
Teachers and students can reach beyond the classroom to exchange ideas virtually.
